These resources have been contributed and “vetted” by the community of cyberinfrastructure professionals (researchers, research computing facilitators, research software engineers and HPC system administrators) that are participating in programs such as this one, that are supported by the ConnectCI community management platform. Additional Knowledge Base Resources are always welcome!
Through collaboration and networking, WHPC strives to bring together women in HPC and technical computing while encouraging women to engage in outreach activities and improve the visibility of inspirational role models.
This website summarizes the notes of Stanford's introductory course on probabilistic graphical models.
It starts from the very basics and concludes by explaining from first principles the variational auto-encoder, an important probabilistic model that is also one of the most influential recent results in deep learning.
A book for researchers who contribute code to R projects: This booklet is the result of my work with the Social Cognition for Social Justice lab. It was developed in response to questions I was getting from students; both grad students that were making software design decisions, and undergraduates who were using things like version control for the first time. Although many tutorials and resources exist for these topics, there was not a single source that I thought covered just enough material to build up to the workflow used by the lab without extraneous detail.
Purdue University is the home of Anvil, a powerful supercomputer that provides advanced computing capabilities to support a wide range of computational and data-intensive research spanning from traditional high-performance computing to modern artificial intelligence applications.
This is the official University of Oxford FSL group lecture page. This includes information on upcoming and past courses (online and in-person), as well as lecture materials. Available lecture materials includes slides and recordings on using FSL, MR physics, and applications of imaging data.
Neocortex is a new supercomputing cluster at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) that features groundbreaking AI hardware from Cerebras Systems.
The NSF-funded ResearchSOC helps make scientific computing resilient to cyberattacks and capable of supporting trustworthy, productive research through operational cybersecurity services, training, and information sharing necessary to a community as unique and variable as research and education (R&E).
ResearchSOC is a service offering from Indiana University's OmniSOC.
GPU training series for scientists, software engineers, and students, with emphasis on Earth science applications.
The content of this course is coordinated with the 6 month series of GPU Training sessions starting in Februrary 2022. The NVIDIA High Performance Computing Software Development Kit (NVHPC SDK) and CUDA Toolkit will be the primary software requirements for this training which will be already available on NCAR's HPC clusters as modules you may load. This software is free to download from NVIDIA by navigating to the NVHPC SDK Current Release Downloads page and the CUDA Toolkit downloads page. Any provided code is written specifically to build and run on NCAR's Casper HPC system but may be adapted to other systems or personal machines. Material will be updated as appropriate for the future deployment of NCAR's Derecho cluster and as technology progresses.
Numpy is a python package that leverages types and compiled C code to make many math operations in Python efficient. It is especially useful for matrix manipulation and operations.
Mathematical optimization deals with the problem of finding numerically minimums or maximums of a functions. This tutorial provides the Python solutions for the optimization problems with examples.
Campus Champions foster a dynamic environment for a diverse community of research computing and data professionals sharing knowledge and experience in digital research infrastructure.
Warewulf is an operating system provisioning platform for Linux that is designed to produce secure, scalable, turnkey cluster deployments that maintain flexibility and simplicity. It can be used to setup a stateless provisioning in HPC environment.
These slides provide an introduction on how Termius and Cursor, two new and freemium apps that use AI to perform more efficient work, can be used for faster HPC research.
This textbook is the first comprehensive treatment of active inference, an integrative perspective on brain, cognition, and behavior used across multiple disciplines including computational neurosciences, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotics. It was published in 2022 and it's open access at this time. The contents in this textbook should be educational to those who want to understand how the free energy principle is applied to the normative behavior of living organisms and who want to widen their knowledge of sequential decision making under uncertainty.
There is a detailed explanation about communication routines and managing methods of different MPI libraries, as well as several exercises designed for users to get familiar with the implementation of MPI build process.
